Special Poetry Reading with Featured Poet, Blas Falconer!

For this event, we are honored to announce our featured reader, Blas Falconer!

Blas Falconer is the author of Rara Avis (Four Way Books 2024); Forgive the Body This Failure (Four Way Books, 2018); The Foundling Wheel (Four Way Books, 2012);  A Question of Gravity and Light (University of Arizona Press, 2007);  and The Perfect Hour (Pleasure Boat Studio: A Literary Press, 2006).  He is also a co-editor for The Other Latin@: Writing Against a Singular Identity (University of Arizona Press, 2011) and Mentor & Muse:  Essays from Poets to Poets (Southern Illinois University Press, 2010).

OPEN MIC GUIDELINES

Join local poets for a FREE morning open mic and poetry reading—with caffeine!

Each session will be hosted by Malibu Poet Laureate, Nathan Hassall, and will start with a special guest reading and an opportunity for live Q&A. Following the featured reader, we will end the event with a poetry open mic.

If you’re published, aspiring, or otherwise, please bring a poem to share or come to enjoy the local poetry. Garner encouragement from peers and derive energy from performing before an audience! The "Caffeinated Verse" open mic series will continue through the fall on the third Saturday of every month.

POETRY HOUSE RULES:

• If you'd like to read at the open mic, please bring one poem so there's enough time for all sign-ups to participate. Thank you!
